Reverse: Saint George slaying a dragon, designed by Benedetto Pistrucci.

Edge: Inscribed with "DECUS ET TUTAMEN ANNO REGNI LVI", indicating the 56th year of Victoria's reign.

The coin was the first crown to feature the "Old Head" or "Veiled Head" portrait of Queen Victoria, which was used until her death in 1901. The portrait was introduced in 1893 and depicts a dignified and veiled queen. This type of coin is highly sought after by collectors.
