1971-S Eisenhower silver dollar that has been professionally graded by Austin Hutto and encapsulated by ICG (Independent Coin Grading Company). The obverse features President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s profile with the inscriptions “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the 1971 date. The reverse shows an eagle landing on the Moon, clutching an olive branch, with the Earth in the background — a design inspired by the Apollo 11 mission patch. This San Francisco–minted issue (“S” mint mark) was struck in a 40% silver composition for collectors, unlike the standard copper-nickel circulation strikes. The coin is certified MS67, meaning Mint State with exceptional luster, sharp strike, and virtually no visible marks under magnification — a very high grade for Eisenhower dollars. The slab label bears ICG’s logo, serial number, and the signature of company president Austin Hutto. Austin previously worked at NGC and PCGS, and is using these talents to turn around ICG. Coins such as the "Ike" dollar appeal to U.S. silver dollar collectors for their historical space-age design and premium condition rarity.
