Taken directly from the tube and never been handled, we have the 2023 American Silver Eagle, the United States’ official one-ounce silver bullion coin. Struck in .999 fine silver and weighing one troy ounce (31.103 g), it has a face value of one dollar but is valued primarily for its silver content and collectability.

The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman’s classic “Walking Liberty” design, originally used on the half dollar (1916–1947). Lady Liberty strides toward the rising sun, draped in the American flag, carrying oak and laurel branches symbolising strength and peace. The inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “IN GOD WE TRUST,” and the date 2023.

The reverse, introduced in 2021, depicts an eagle in mid-landing with wings outstretched, clutching an oak branch — a modern design by Emily Damstra. Surrounding legends read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,” “ONE DOLLAR,” “1 OZ. FINE SILVER,” and the motto “E PLURIBUS UNUM.”
